Lecture: Art as chance encounter with me
Whenever I look back at my works, it is like going back to a certain moment of that former me. The overlapping of past and present, the collision of time and life intertwined together, can always find traces of survival in the crevices of the works.

“One” showed at “China-The Past is Present”
The original idea of “Dialogue” stems from personal despair. The work shows a man and a woman making a call; the phone line hangs in the middle, proving the impossibility of such a dialogue. In this contradictory state of mind lies the original idea of the installation “Dialogue”. The last gunshot was a roar out of suppressed emotions.

On February 23, 2023, Xiao Lu participated in “Contempoary Chinese Artists Autobiography”, organized by Sheng Qi, an artist living in London. The first article “Xiao Lu: The Avenger’s Bullet”. This event was conducted by Sheng Qi in London via Zoom with the artist, and then linked to YouTube.

On September 9, 2022, at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg in Germany, a four-month exhibition on women in the world named “Empowerment” kicked off.

On October 1, 2022, Xiao Lu put on an umbrella and went to Belmore Park at Sydney Central Station to participate in the “Women Life Freedom” protest rally organized by Iranians. Freedom and women’s rights are written on the umbrella in Chinese, English and Persian.
