肖鲁从未大声呼喊——她选择了开枪。1989年，她用两声枪响击碎的不仅是一块玻璃，更是中国艺术界对女性自主的沉默。当时，她还没有用“女性主义”来形容自己。

Xiao Lu never raised her voice — she fired a shot. In 1989, with two bullets, she shattered not only a pane of glass but also the silence surrounding women’s autonomy in Chinese art. At the time, she did not speak of feminism.
肖鲁打枪背后的两种叙事
1989年2月5日，肖鲁在“中国现代艺术展”开幕后大约两小时，向自己的装置作品《对话》开了两枪。肖鲁的作品位于中国美术馆的一楼东厅的进门左侧，处于最为显眼的地方。

爸爸妈妈；这个世界上最爱我的人走了。身体与精神像被抽空一样的窒息。2025年3月1日，妈妈走了！2025年7月8日爸爸走了！他们吵了一辈子，爱了一辈子，所有的恩怨，在他们下葬那一刻，化作尘土，长眠于杭州南山陵园的墓穴里，他们相守在一起。

为庆祝俄勒冈大学妇女社会研究中心 (CSWS) 成立 50 周年，博物馆举办了题为“半边天：中国艺术中的女性”的特别展览，引用了毛泽东主席 1968 年的名言“妇女拥有上半边天”，意思是说她们与男人平等。
